Project DescriptionThe Gallup Management Journal was an online news journal that offered sound business advice to Gallup’s associates. The site’s content was outstanding, but it felt too complex for most users and lacked interesting visuals. I needed to simplify the site by restructuring its content and integrating a more compelling design.
My InvolvementI was the designer and art director of the Gallup Management Journal for a couple of years, and I took the initiative to start this redesign project without the request of the managing editor. I realized that the “GMJ” was not optimizing its offerings for its subscribers and I wanted to change that. By researching best practices of news journals and developing a number of usable concepts myself, I came up with a system that brought the GMJ’s outstanding content to the surface. All articles were easier to find and more interesting once the user started reading.
